The Impermanent Disruption

Before anyone could respond, Jonah chimed in with an emphatic giggle via the monitor. The others followed his lead and finally, I was invited to join the family joy. If we were to accidentally blow out the candle laughing together, I know that Nana would be overjoyed by such disrespect.

As promised, the power returned about an hour later. Before heading off to bed, my Father checked the baseball score and facetiously proclaimed, “Well, the house might not have burnt down but the Mets lost. We can’t call this a completely successful evening.”
