The Beach

Jamesy  was married at The Montauk Yacht Club in 2009 to a lovely young woman who grew up inEasthampton. Her father, Francis ‘Newt’ Mott recently retired from theEasthamptonpolice force after 37 years of law enforcement.  Jamesy was welcomed into to the extended Mott family- reminiscent of his father’s family where each of his parents had six or seven siblings and Jim was the eldest of six children.

Jamesy lives in Easthamptonand works in the corporate real estate office in Bridgehampton. We never discuss business.

My growing career and my daughter’s busy city life has meant much less time in Quogue.

It has not diminished our shared love of life in Quogue and of course, the beach.

Now the house on Deer Path is for sale; as with life changes so do real estate needs change. (Said by a real estate professional.)

Perhaps I will be a summer renter and wait for my daughter to buy her first house and be invited to visit. Whomever she marries, he must love Quogue.

Although by now I have sat on many beaches on several continents I am convinced that the narrow spit of land jutting out into theAtlantic Oceanhas the finest sand the cleanest ocean and most beautiful sunsets.
